it's the middle of october already?

It's been busy around here!  In addition to winter-like weather tendencies (I opted to wait to run this morning after seeing the wonderful snow-rain-sleet that was out there), we've had visits from parents, church people, Dave's ordination, and still no internet!

The rest of this week will probably not have much cooking, as our fridge is overflowing with leftovers and I've been struggling to find containers to put new leftovers in!  On Tuesday, before Dave's ordination service, we spur-of-the-moment decided to have a dinner guest over, so I quick threw together this meal (thank you, Kelly, for helping me figure out what to make):

spinach pesto pasta

cranberry/apple/balsamic vinegarette salad

cheesy garlic bread (not pictured)

And then after the ordination we went out for some Ordination Ice Cream ala Dairy Queen (because the local diner with much better ice cream options was, sadly, closed)

I learned a valuable lesson yesterday: don't eat party mix before you go running.  It leads to stomach cramps and a shorter run.  Just don't do it.
